Vegetable garden, and chickens

At Red Hill we try to live by our beliefs about caring for the environment.

Our first goal is to reduce our consumption. Then we reuse and recycle our waste. All scraps are used for feeding our chickens or adding to our compost.

We have a seasonal vegetable, herb and flower garden. Produce from our lemon, orange, mandarin and tangerine trees are used fresh, to make lemon butter and preserves. We develop a strawbale garden each season, and use the old bales for mulch on the gardens.

Students from local schools engage in these activities over longer time frames, such as the special education class, the girl's cherish group and the boy's challenge program.
