Our centre offers outdoor learning programs for all primary school students, from Years 3 to 6. All programs are linked to the NSW curriculum.

Students explore and experience the way of life for Australian Gold Miners.  Students build a miners camp, try their hand at gold panning and gain an in-depth understanding of the life of Gold Miners in Gulgong in 1872.

Living World: Microbes

Location: Red Hill EEC

Students immerse themselves in the world of Micro-organisms. They learn about the characteristics and properties of Micro-organisms. They also experience using microscopes; fair scientific testing; accurate data collection; hypothesising and drawing knowledge based conclusions.

Students participate in a range of engaging, challenging and enjoyable activities in a natural environment, fostering the development of a strong sense of wellbeing.  Students engage with a range of equipment while building and strengthening peer relationships, problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Location: Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve

Students focus on measuring and understanding the physical features of an environment and exploring the living world of a natural bush area. Students will develop knowledge of the interdependence of living things. They will work together to develop empathy, understanding and respect and recognise the importance of the care of place by First Nations peoples.
