Environmental and Zoo Education Centres

Our centre supports the Environmental and Zoo Education Centre (EZEC) network vision in 'Leading environmental education for a sustainable future'.

Red Hill Environmental Education Centreis one of 24 Environmental Education and Zoo Education Centres (EZECs) operating within NSW. These centres are the leading providers of teacher-led school excursions and incursions, supporting thousands of K–12 students each year. Red Hill EEC is a proud and active member of the EZEC Network, working collaboratively with our colleagues across the state to lead environmental education for a sustainable future.

Environmental and Zoo Education Centres provide high-quality, curriculum-aligned school excursions, incursions and teacher professional learning. These centres support learning in natural, built and cultural environments and help students develop fieldwork skills, scientific inquiry, geographical understanding and environmental awareness.

As specialist NSW Department of Education teaching centres, EECs offer programs for Early Childhood Education to Year 12 that connect students with local ecosystems, school grounds and community environments. Each centre delivers hands-on learning led by qualified teachers and tailored to the needs of schools across the state.
