We are lucky to be located in the beautiful historic township of Gulgong and within easy distance of a number of amazing and beautiful natural environments, such as Goulburn River National Park, Wollemi National Park, Munghorn Nature Reserve, Wyaldra Creek and the Cudgegong River.
These sites contain a range of internationally, nationally and regionally significant areas of Aboriginal, European and Natural Heritage. Hands On Rock is a site of Aboriginal rock art, potentially dating back thousands of years. A huge number of artefact scatters and grinding grooves are located in the surrounding area, a meeting and trading centre for Wiradjuri, Gamilaroi and Wonnarua people.
Dunn's Swamp, or 'Ganguddy' in Wiradjuri language, is located near Kandos. It is a man-made dam built in the 1920's to supply water to the Kandos cement works. An area of significant natural beauty, and once again, the location of Aboriginal heritage art and stories.
The Drip is a magnificent gorge located on the Goulburn River downstream of coal mining activities, and until recently under threat from these economic forces. It has now been included into the Goulburn River National Park.
