Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve

The Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve holding significant cultural value for First Nations Wiradjuri people. The second oldest nature reserve in Australia, the area protects an environment of sandstone pagoda country where striking natural rock formations jut from the bushland-like ancient ruins. The Reserve is also well known for its extensive bird list, with over 150 species of birds recorded.

Red Hill EEC deliver a variety of Science and Geography learning programs at this site, focusing on first-hand fieldwork activities and studies into the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater.
